Taiwan's News.Net Tuesday 29th December, 2009
The American International Group has said it will pay its departing general counsel several million dollars in severance.
The Wall Street Journal has reported that Anastasia Kelly will be able to collect the money under the company's severance plan, in which certain executives can resign and still collect severance if their pay has been reduced significantly.
Anastasia Kelly earlier in the year said she would resign due to federal pay curbs on the company.
AIG is about 80 percent owned by US taxpayers.
