Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin has denied the results of an investigation which said she abused her power as governor.
A legislative investigation on Friday found Mrs Palin violated state ethics laws by trying to have her former brother-in-law fired as a state trooper.
Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, has since stated she did not abuse her power as governor and, speaking to a reporter, said: “If you read the report you'll see that there was nothing unlawful or unethical about replacing a cabinet member. You gotta read the report, sir."
The legislative committee that released the report Friday was not able to recommend any criminal investigation as it did not have the authority.
Meanwhile the Republican campaign has also quickly refuted the conclusions of the investigation, with a spokesman saying: "I think the American people can tell the difference between the results of a politically motivated investigation and a legitimate finding of fact."
The inquiry locked on to Palin's dismissal of Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan, who said he lost his job because he resisted pressure to fire a state trooper, Mike Wooten, who was involved in a bitter divorce and custody battle with the governor's sister.
Palin insisted Monegan was fired as part of a legitimate budget dispute.
The investigation concluded that Monegan's firing was lawful, but the pressure Palin and her husband put on him was not.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Mike Wooten had previously been in trouble over allegations that he illegally shot a moose, drank beer in a patrol car and used a Taser on his stepson.
It was also claimed Wooten had made threats against the Sarah Palin’s family.

The claim...
... , That unlawful was not broken, and that unethical was not broken, because another Governmental Employee was fired because he was/is appointed seems to me to be a convulted weasel wording that should be Tested!
Tested by the Peoples' Vote, because if nothing else it is morally wrong. Firing a Person for doing their Job is WRONG!
Government is Not One Person Ruling! As a Leader, it is wrong to not be able to take a 'No' from another employee! You may choose to not advance the Person, You may choose to give that person a bad/poor performance review, but to blackmail the person with firing ? Is not right, not moral, and I argue it is illegal! Government Office demands your acts in the name of the People be fair and honest and to not descriminate! Whether governor or president!

The findings say abuse of power but nothing criminal but but but wait is that lawyer speak for we can’t make it stick but we still want to tarnish her name?
If you hold an appointment office you’re there at the pleasure of those who hold your appointment if they have any reason to dislike your job performance so long.
I don’t know about you but I can be fired at anytime for any reason.

Meaning, If the boss’s wife walks into the business and sees you did not admire her new dress, if she demands her husband fires you, its ok by you! You were busy working and missed it.
Well, my values say your wrong, not only that, but you are deserving of abuse, plus being a total messianic you do not deserve to vote!
You are 'responsible' for voting in the destruction of the American Workers! The Elevation of Corporations to super citizenship! Where corporations can Bribe Our Governmental Employees, for Law changes that sent Our Jobs to foreign countries!
I cannot think of any traitor or spy that has done more damage to Our Country, than your kind! The lil cowardly theif and traitor!
All federal Employees take an Oath to the Peoples' Service! They come first! When they are doing Our Business, the appointer has no right to fire them for doing Our Business! Especially if the employee is told by the appointer to do something against the Peoples' Interests!
In a Corporation, The President and or CEO, has no right to fire an employee for doing the Corporate Business according to by laws and business practices written and approved formation of the corporation. The 'License' belongs to the People! Not the President nor the CEO.
What right does an Appointer have or need that is greater than the Peoples Business? So that the appointer’s anger is most important to be appeased by the firing of an employee that is doing the Peoples' Business Properly?
